In the first eleven months of 2011, China¡¯s import and export value of agricultural products amounted to USD 136.98 billion, up by 28.6% over the same period of last year. This growth rate was 5% higher than the growth rate of the nation¡¯s total foreign trade. Among that, the export value was USD 53.77 billion, a 24.3% year-on-year increase, while the import was USD 83.21 billion, a 31.6% year-on-year increase. The trade deficit of agricultural products amounted to USD 29.44 billion, a 47.2% increase over the same period of last year. The export of agricultural products accounted for 3.1% of China¡¯s total export value, while the import of such products accounted for 5.2% of the country¡¯s total import.
