According to the Customs, in April 2019, China’s import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 19.49 billion USD, up by 14.2% over February and by 7.5% over the same period last year. Among that, the export value was 6.15 billion USD, down by 5.0% over March and 7.7% over the same period last year. The import value was 13.34 billion USD, up by 25.9% over March and by 16.3% over the same period last year. Trade deficit reached 7.18 billion USD while the number from April 2018 was 4.8 billion.

From January to April 2019, China’s import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 70.73 billion USD, up by 4.6% over the same period last year. Among that, the export value was 23.36 billion USD, down by 4.4% over the same period last year. The import value was 47.37 billion USD, up by 9.6% over the same period last year. Trade deficit reached 24.01 billion USD while the number from same period in 2018 was 18.78.
