According to the Customs, from January to May 2017, China’s import and export value of agricultural products reached 79.03 billion USD, up by 10.2% compared to the same period last year. Among that, the export value was 28.42 billion USD, up by 1.0% over the same period last year. The import value was 50.61 billion USD, up by 16.1% compared to the same period last year. Trade deficit reached 22.19 billion USD, an expansion of 43.5%. The export revenue of agricultural products takes up 3.3% of the total export revenue while the import revenue takes up 7.1%.
