According to customs statistics, China’s import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 16.63 billion USD in January 2017, down by 1.7% compared to last December and up by 9.6% compared to the same month in 2016. Among that, the export value was 6.47 billion USD, an 11.5% month-on-month decrease and 14.2% year-on-year increase, while the import value was 10.16 billion USD, a 10.6% month-on-month decrease and 14.2% year-on-year increase. The trade deficit was 3.69 billion USD, increased by 40.3%. The export revenue of agricultural products takes 3.5% of the total export revenue of China while the import value takes 7.7%.
