According to the Customs, in July 2016, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 15.61 billion USD, up by 2.9% over June and down by 9.8% over the same period last year. Among that, the export value was 6.17 billion USD, an 8% month-on-month increase and 12.0% year-on-year increase, while the import value was 9.44 billion USD, a 0.2% month-on-month decrease and 20.0% year-on-year decrease.
From January to July in 2016, China's import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 102.34 billion USD, down by 4.1% compared to the same period last year. Among that, export value was 39.84 billion USD, a 4.2% increase over the same period last year, while import value was 62.49 billion USD, an 8.8% decrease compared to the same period last year. The trade deficit of agricultural products amounted to 22.65 billion USD, narrowed by 25.2% compared to the same period last year. The export of agricultural products accounted for 3.4% of China's total export value, while the import of such products accounted for 7.3% of the country's total import.
