According to Chinese Customs, in the first 3 months of 2015, China¡¯s import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 41.61 billion USD, down by 9.8% over the same period of last year. The decline rate of agricultural trade was 3.5% higher than that of the nation¡¯s total foreign trade. Among that, the export value was 15.72 billion USD, a 1.8% year-on-year increase. This growth rate was 2.9% lower than the growth rate of the nation¡¯s total export. The agricultural import was 25.88 billion USD, down by 15.7%, which was 1.9% lower than the drop rate of the nation¡¯s total import. The trade deficit of agricultural products amounted to 10.16 billion USD, a 33.4% decrease over the same period of last year. The export of agricultural products accounted for 3.1% of China¡¯s total export in value, while the import of such products accounted for 6.9% of the country¡¯s total import.
