According to Chinese Customs, in January and February 2015, China¡¯s import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 28.48 billion USD, down by 6.2% over the same period of last year. The decline rate of agricultural trade was 3.9% higher than that of the nation¡¯s total foreign trade. Among that, the export value was 11.21 billion USD, a 12.9% year-on-year increase. This growth rate was 2.1% lower than the growth rate of the nation¡¯s total export. The agricultural import was 17.27 billion USD, down by 15.5%, which was 4.7% lower than the drop rate of the nation¡¯s total import. The trade deficit of agricultural products amounted to 6.06 billion USD, a 42.3% decrease over the same period of last year. The export of agricultural products accounted for 3% of China¡¯s total export in value, while the import of such products accounted for 6.9% of the country¡¯s total import.
