According to Customs of China, in January 2015, China’s import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 16.65 billion USD, down by 9.2% over the same period of last year. Among that, the export value was 6.28 billion USD, a 6.6% year-on-year decrease, while the import was 10.37 billion USD, a 10.7% year-on-year decrease. The trade deficit of agricultural products amounted to 4.09 billion USD, a 16.4% decrease over the same period of last year. The growth of agricultural trade was 1.7% higher than that of the nation’s total foreign trade. The growth rate of agricultural export was 3.3% lower than the growth rate of the nation’s total export, while the growth of agricultural import was 9.2% higher than the growth rate of the nation’s total import. The export of agricultural products accounted for 3.1% of China’s total export value, while the import of such products accounted for 7.4% of the country’s total import.
