According to Chinese Customs, in the first 11 months of 2013, China¡¯s import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 165.35 billion USD, up by 5.5% over the same period of last year. Among that, the export value was 60.03 billion USD, a 7% year-on-year increase, while the import was 105.32 billion USD, a 4.7% year-on-year growth. The trade deficit of agricultural products amounted to 45.29 billion USD, a 1% decrease over the same period of last year. The growth of agricultural trade was 2.2% lower than that of the nation¡¯s total foreign trade. The growth rate of agricultural export was 1.3% lower than the growth rate of the nation¡¯s total export, while the growth of agricultural import was 2.4% lower than the growth rate of the nation¡¯s total import. The export of agricultural products accounted for 3% of China¡¯s total export value, while the import of such products accounted for 6% of the country¡¯s total import.
