According to Chinese Customs, in the first 7 months of 2013, China¡¯s import and export value of agricultural products amounted to 103.02 billion USD, up by 4.6% over the same period of last year. Among that, the export value was 37.09 billion USD, a 7.7% year-on-year increase, while the import was 65.93 billion USD, a 3% year-on-year growth. The trade deficit of agricultural products amounted to 28.84 billion USD, a 2.6% decrease over the same period of last year. The growth of agricultural trade was 3.9% lower than that of the nation¡¯s total foreign trade. The growth rate of agricultural export was 1.8% lower than the growth rate of the nation¡¯s total export, while the growth of agricultural import was 4.3% lower than the growth rate of the nation¡¯s total import. The export of agricultural products accounted for 3% of China¡¯s total export value, while the import of such products accounted for 5.9% of the country¡¯s total import.
