Vice President Yu Lu Attends "Turkish Traditional Breakfast"

 

On the morning of March 22, the "Turkish Traditional Breakfast" was held at the Turkish Embassy in China. Vice president Yu Lu was invited to attend the event and deliver a speech. At the request of the Turkish embassy in China, CFNA also invited the heads of several member companies to participate in the event.

 

 

His Excellency Abdulkadir Emin Onen, Turkish Ambassador to China, emphasized in his speech that China has become Turkey's largest trading partner in Asia and the second largest trading partner in the world. Trade between the two countries has grown 30-fold over the past 20 years, reaching a record-breaking $36 billion in 2021.

 

He also emphasized that Turkey, with its fertile land and rich products, is one of the leading countries in food and agriculture. Similar to China, Turkish cuisine is also world-famous.

 

Turkey is the seventh largest agricultural producer in the world, leading the world in the production of cherries, quinces, dried figs, hazelnuts, raisins and dried apricots. It also ranks among the top five in the world for vegetable and fruit production. In addition, Turkey is the world's third largest pasta producer and peanut exporter, the world's largest exporter of tilapia and sea bass, the world's fourth largest olive oil producer, and the world's top ten in chicken production. With the continuous deepening of the "Belt and Road" initiative, the future prospects for trade cooperation between Turkey and China will be brighter.

  

 

Vice president Yu Lu also emphasized in her speech that food is an important channel for cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchanges between countries. China and Turkey are highly complementary in the field of food and agricultural trade. Yu Lu believes that through the display and introduction of the event, everyone will have a deeper understanding of Turkey's high-quality food and agricultural products, and with the joint efforts of the two sides, trade between the two countries will also see more fruitful results.
