First China-Africa Food & Agro Products Cooperation Forum Held in Changsha

The first China-Africa Food & Agro Products Cooperation Forum was held in Changsha, Hunan Province on Sep. 27 during the second China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo. Mr. He Baoxiang, vice governor of Hunan, Ms. Xie Yajing, inspector of level one of the department of western Asian and African affairs of MOFCOM, and Mr. Yao Jingyuan, special researcher of counselors’ office of the State Council attended and addressed the forum. CFNA President Cao Derong hosted the forum.

Ms. Josefa Leonel Correia Sacko, commissioner for rural economy and agriculture of the African Union Commission, Mr. Harifidy Ramilison, minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Madagascar, Ms. Maria Gustava, Ambassador of Mozambique to China, Mr. Mamadou Ndiaye, Ambassador of Senegal to China, and Mrs. Sarah Serem, Ambassador of Kenya to China also gave video speeches and congratulated the opening of the forum. 250 representatives from Chinese and African government and business communities attended the forum.

 

The signing ceremony of China-Africa food and agro products cooperation project was also held during the forum. Signed contract valued 510 million USD.

Themed on “working hand in hand and creating great achievements together”, this forum aimed to promote agricultural import from Africa and create an effective and pragmatic platform for business cooperation and information exchange.
