China Tunisia Olive Oil Online Matchmaking Meeting Held

Co-hosted by CFNA and the Embassy of Tunisia in China, China-Tunisia Olive Oil Online Matchmaking Meeting was held on Jan. 15. Mr. Cao Derong, president of CFNA; Ms. Zhang Fengling, counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of China in Tunisia; Ms. Dhouha Mizouni Chtourou, vice president of Tunisian-Chinese Business Council, Mr. Chiheb Slama, president of the Tunisian Olive Oil Exporters Association; representatives from the Embassy of Tunisia in China; and representatives from around 60 companies from the two countries attended the meeting. The production situation of olive oil in Tunisia, the general situation of the bilateral olive oil trade, and the development trend of the bilateral trade were introduced and discussed during the meeting.

The two sides pointed out that the meeting not only set up a communication platform for the olive oil companies from the two countries during the spreading of the Covid-19 globally, but also laid the foundation for the expansion of Chinese market of Tunisian olive oil. The two sides also agreed to continue deepening cooperation and promote the development of the bilateral olive oil trade.
