Vice president Rong Weidong met with Brian King, Chairman of USA RICE on April 17. Rong said that the two organizations, as the bridge between the government and companies, had great potential for cooperation. A lot of work could be done on voicing market opinions to the government, establishing industrial standards, and educating consumers. What’s more, China will host China International Import Expo (CIIE) from this year, which is a major policy initiative and commitment to open up the Chinese market. Rong invited USA RICE to attend the CIIE and King said that they will put that into consideration. The two sides also discussed market access, promotion, and sustainable development of rice from the U.S. to China.
