China-India Oilmeals Seminar and Buyers-Sellers Meet co-hosted by CFNA and the Embassy of India

On 25^th April 2011, the China-India Oilmeals Seminar and Buyers-Sellers Meet co-hosted by CFNA and the Embassy of India were held in Century Fortune Center, Beijing. Mr. Bian Zhenhu, President of CFNA and Mr. Rahul Chhabra, Deputy Chief of Mission addressed the seminar. Representatives of CFNA member companies and the Indian Solvent Extractors Association (SEA) delegation, altogether more than 30 companies participated in the activity.

    Mr. Bian welcomed all the companies, and pointed out that oilseeds and oilmeals are important sectors of China-India agricultural trade. The Chinese market developed by leaps and bounds in recent years. Thus it provides good opportunity to oilseeds and oilmeals producers, including those in India. The chamber of commerce holds an active and practical attitude towards the cooperation with India. This event is part of the 2011 China-India Exchange Year. CFNA hopes that it could bring practical results to extractors and oilmeals companies of the two countries.

    In the presentations of Mr. Rahul Chhabra, Deputy Chief of Mission and Mr. Sushil Goenka, President of SEA, they introduced the advantages of Indian oilseeds and oilmeals industry and the prospect of bilateral cooperation. They also stressed the hope to strengthen the cooperation with CFNA to jointly establish a platform for the direct communication and cooperation among companies.

    Following the seminar, companies from the two countries had one-on-one business meeting. In the afternoon, the Indian delegation visited the factory of a CFNA key member company.
