President Bian Zhenhu Leads Delegation to the Philippines to Promote Fruit Trade

In order to put the consensus reached by the two leaders on economic and trade cooperation between China and the Philippines during President Duterte’s state visit to China into practice, president BianZhenhu, leading a delegation of eight top Chinese fruit importers including Golden Wing Mau, Good Farmer Group, Pagoda, Dalian YIDU Group, Xiamen Fuhuida, went to the Philippines for fruit trade promotion from Nov. 9 to Nov. 13.

During the visit, the delegation met with representatives from Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Philippine Exporters Confederation, Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization, the Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association, etc. and shared opinions on promoting the bilateral fruit trade. Jin Yuan, the Commercial Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Embassy of China in the Philippines attended three of the meetings.

The delegation also visited the mango hot processing factory of HILAS Company, banana plantation, paper-box packaging factory, and container terminal of TADECO company, etc. and learned about the planting, processing, packaging, transport, and import and export of mango, banana, pineapple, etc. Contracts worth more than 100 million U.S. dollars, with the volume of over 100 thousand tons were signed during the visit.

The Philippine side welcomed the delegation, expressed their confidence in expanding cooperation with China under the current background, promised to strengthen communication with CFNA, and wished for further business development with the support of CFNA.
