Vice president Yu Lu met with Dr. Jose Tam Perez, president of Peru-China Chamber of Commerce. The two sides had pragmatic exchange of views on promoting bilateral trade and cooperation on agricultural products and food.
During the meeting, Madame Yu Lu pointed out since the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Peru-China Chamber of Commerce in 2004, with the joint effort from the two sides, trade of agricultural products and food between China and Peru has been steadily growing. In order to further promote it, CFNA suggests expanding the exchanges and cooperation in chicken and tea trade. Yu Lu also introduced the incoming Anufood China and invited Dr. Perez to attend the 2017 International Tea Conference held by CFNA.
Dr. Perez indicated that Peru is the only country in South America that has signed FTA agreement and established comprehensive strategic partnership with China. China is Peru¡¯s largest trade partner. Currently, Chinese accounted for 15.49% of Peru¡¯s total population. The two cultures are related and products are complementary. Peru-China Chamber of Commerce is willing to cooperate further with CFNA and promote the healthy development of the bilateral agricultural trade on the occasion of the mutual visit of the two heads and the 45thanniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
